Micro weddings & elopements

A quiet place to gather, marry, and begin.

Starting late July 2026

Not every wedding needs a venue.
Some need time, space, and a place that already feels alive.

A few times each year, we open our off-grid cabin at Surge Narrows for very small, intentional wedding retreats — designed for couples who want to step away from production and create a beginning that feels grounded, personal, and unhurried.

This is not a traditional wedding venue.
It’s a private cabin and surrounding outdoor space, offered as a place to stay — with the option to hold a simple, quiet ceremony during your time here.

What this is (and what it isn’t)

These retreats are best understood as a stay that allows for a wedding, rather than a wedding package.

You’ll have the cabin for two or three nights, giving you time to arrive slowly, gather your people, exchange vows, and rest — without fitting everything into a single scheduled day.

This offering includes:

  • A 2- or 3-night private stay at our cabin in Surge Narrows

  • Use of the cabin and surrounding outdoor space for a quiet ceremony

  • Space for up to 10 people total (including the couple)

  • Time — to settle in, share meals, and be present together

This offering does not include:

  • Event coordination or planning

  • Seating, tables, décor, or rentals

  • Catering or food services

  • Vendor management or event infrastructure

This is intentional.
The simplicity is what allows the experience to remain calm, respectful, and meaningful.

A place-rooted experience

Surge Narrows is a remote, water-access community surrounded by forest and ocean. The cabin is off-grid, quiet, and designed for low-impact, thoughtful use of the land.

Because of the nature of the place — and to protect its integrity — micro wedding and elopement retreats are offered infrequently, typically two to three times per year.

Dates are limited, seasonal, and selected with care.

and meaningful.

Optional documentary photography

For couples who wish to have their time here documented, documentary-style photography by Dorota Keeling Photography can be added as a natural extension of the retreat.

Rather than staged wedding coverage, photography is approached gently — capturing the ceremony, shared moments, and the in-between parts of the experience as they unfold.

The focus is not on performance or posing, but on presence, connection, and memory.

Photography add-on (optional):

  • Intimate documentary coverage (typically 2–3 hours)

  • Ceremony + surrounding moments

  • Carefully edited digital gallery

  • Starting at $1,050 for the 2026 season (founding pricing)

Photography is optional and offered only to couples staying at the cabin.

Who this is for

This experience may be a good fit if you’re looking for:

  • A micro wedding or elopement-style gathering

  • Time together rather than a tightly scheduled event

  • A quiet, rustic, nature-rooted setting

  • A wedding that feels woven into real life

  • Simplicity over spectacle

It may not be a fit if you’re planning:

  • A larger guest list

  • Extensive décor or rentals

  • A highly structured or high-energy event
